(I am including here only five stanzas- I, X, XI, XIV, and XV) All the lines are uniform 6 iambs (12 syllables)

Mundasu na dyanan gbenwa pidlelamen,

Dlupa’ mebuntal dlumpuhan gmata-getaw;

Su gempulu’ gmuntya’ rin dapit silangan,

Gemba’is pusaha’ ndi’u na metongaw.

Petuyang gbulan sumyag di kherangan hu,

Su s’yag dhali’-gendaw ryanan pelyubung nyu;

Petuyang sambel mayan megiru-iru,

Guni dlemuk, semba’ d’ya ginuli’an hu.

Mantu gendaw tumunggul gmenipis gabun,

Tug Bos Dlangit nga dhalanginan pelentun; l

Gbagel gina thu’us helegan nyu ryanan,

Tu Dyanin gerapan lumbangen nyu inan.

Supama ngalan hu nda’ na tu phusung mu,

Mirag na: Phun gilala, gbatu, phandi ‘u;

‘Hag si’ sambel mwiten palid su dlawasu,

Dhunek midalepayan byananu dharu.

Dya Katunawan, khawang peganuranud,

Din pinepu’an, dlawas thubig miledlud;

Midlihetuling, medhelag: megbebatu,

Menembitu ra, ndi’ mpalin su saligu.

WORD MEANING:

1. Megiru-iru – an expression of emotional pain

2. Ginuli’an hu – euphemism for the resting place of the departed dead: the cemetery

3. Gmenipis gabun – mists

4. Bos Dlangit – contraction of Gekbus Dlangit or summit of the Subanen

7-layered heavens believed to be the home of Megbebeya’ the Creator God

5. Dhunek midalepayan - a carpet of scattered dusts

6. Katunawan – the 6th layer of the heavens

7. Dlawas thubig miledlud – underground lake or reservoir
